Glass celebrates 25th birthday of Anglo-French brasserie Randall & Aubin

THIS SEPTEMBER marked the 25th anniversary of Anglo-French brasserie Randall & Aubin. Located in the heart of Soho, the restaurant has been a favourite among Londoners, tourists, and celebrities since 1996 serving the guests with the most delicious seafood dishes and warm atmosphere.

Jamie Poulton and Head Chef Ed Baines – the founders of the restaurant, made sure to preserve the history of the space whilst setting up their business. As previously it used to operate as a butcher’s shop, known for supplying Londoners with the high quality meat including The Ritz and The Savoy, the guests can still see the original hooks hanging from the ceiling, marble countertops and the sign, which makes the restaurant hard to miss, even whilst walking through crowded streets of Soho.

Ed and Jamie agree the restaurant was created from their shared excitement for delivering the best quality dishes to their guests. The menu is comprised of the seasonal and local products and centres mainly around seafood.

For the celebration dinner, me and my guest had a pleasure of trying an impressive Assiette de Fruits de Mer – a platter of oysters, mussels, pink prawns, crab and seared tuna paired with a glass of Château Sainte Marguerite wine.

Thinking it cannot get any better, Randal & Aubin’s chefs prepared a delicious main – Grilled turbot with crispy potatoes and a champagne velouté sauce, a delicate yet filling portion. Our dining experience was completed with a sweet touch of chocolate delice with salted caramel sauce and milk ice cream paired with a glass of dessert wine.

To mark the celebration of their big anniversary the guests can now try Randall & Aubin’s own champagne, which has a specially designed limited edition label by a British artist John Yeo. For those who fall in love with the bubbles, the bottle will be also available to purchase.
